I've been diagnosed with Crohn's and I'm trying to find which biologic I should take.

What is your opinion on Humira or Remicade?

  1. Hi Marybi, thank you for your question. I hope you will receive some experiences from our community members, as I know many of them have tried Humira and Remicade. In the meantime, I wanted to share a few articles that will hopefully be helpful!

    1. Hi Mary,

I am currently on Remicade because based on my conditions, lifestyle and bloodworm, it was the best choice. When talking about treatments, it's best think about them as a tailor fit. What may work for me, may not work for you. Humira allows for a bit more freedom because it's an injection as opposed to the I.V. with Remicade. Also, there are other biologics available for Crohn's outside of Remicade and Humira that are injection or I.V. Definitely have a sit-down with your doc and list out all the pros and cons.
I do suggest going in with an open mind. And start your treatment with an open mind. No medication is a guarantee, so stay open to any changes you may need to make.

      1. Hi Mary,

Just like Brooke, my medication experience has been trial and error. I liked the idea of injections, but did not respond well to Humira. I am also now on Remicade. I would definitely recommend talking to other Crohn's patients here in our community to hear positive and negative feedback of each biologic, but also do your own research too. My doctor had a preference in order of trying to treat, so I first tried Entyvio, then Humira, then Remicade. This is not necessairly typical, but I say this to say everyone has a unique journey to wellness. I hope you find something soon that improves your quality of life!

        1. Thank you so much girls! You're being very helpful! I can't decide because my doctor told me that I could pick any of the treatments either humira, stelara or ramicade. Even though he mentioned that stelara hasn't that many trials yet and ramicade is the final solution if I don't react very well to all the others. Entyvio is another option as well I but I don't much about it. Thank you for all your advices!
