I feel you, girlfriend!! Conserving energy and deciding where to put it is one of the consequences of CD that not many people talk about. You have to do the things that pay the bills (aka work) but then that leaves you with little energy to do the things you actually enjoy (and deserve to bring you joy!) which puts us on a vicious cycle of being…
I firmly believe that our attitude is what makes the difference between LIVING with Crohn’s and SUFFERING with Crohn’s. We cannot control the fact that we have a life-long disease, but we can control the way we handle it and our attitude. I think the only true “cure” for this disease lies in how we cope on a daily basis.
I feel the exact same way! I honestly never see my PC doc, as I feel like the only real issues I have are related to my GI. I never go to the doctor for a cold, and my mom and sister were insisting that I see a doctor last year when I had a bad cough for fear it was something worse (I ended up going, reluctantly, and it was in fact just a cold)…
A bit tired
I love your message in that it is “how” we react that matters. I firmly believe that if you cannot change it, change your attitude and that is precisely the case with this disease. While we cannot change it, cure it, or absolve it, we can change our attitude to embrace what we have and deal with it in the most positive way possible.
