Celebrate World Ostomy Day!
October 2 is World Ostomy Day! In honor of this day, we've put together some tips to help celebrate and share. Whether you have an ostomy, are thinking about getting one, or are a caregiver or support system for someone with an ostomy, we want to hear from you! Share your thoughts and experiences (good or bad) to help spread awareness!
A few tips to celebrate
1. Share your story
Sharing your story is a great way to help raise awareness of IBD and ostomies. Everyone with IBD is unique but the more representations of the disease we see, the more we understand!
2. Show off your ostomy
Whether in person or over social media, show off your ostomy! This is a great way to share and connect with others.
3. Ask questions or share your own tips
Do you have questions about your ostomy or do you have questions as you consider getting one? Do you have an ostomy and have tips to share? Visit our forums section of our site to get some insight from our community members and share your own insight as well.
4. Educate yourself
Inflammatoryboweldisease.net has many posts about ostomies, from how to change one to what to wear to make it most comfortable. We pulled some articles so that they're easy to find!
