PeedieAnge1985's Status Updates

"Hi ya my Calprotectin has raised again to 668 after going down to 75 end of January. Test taken again last week and has elevated to 668. Receptionist just called to let me know the my GP has past it on to the Gastroenterology specialist."

  1. Hi , thanks for the update. I was just about to reply to your previous status update (about your colonoscopy results and worry about the MRI) when I saw this newest one. It's good news that the doctor has passed on your Calprotectin level, although it's certainly understandable you're feeling frustrated about the clear colonoscopy. I know that we've had other community members who found they were unable to be diagnosed via colonoscopy (especially if it's Crohn's as that can impact any area of the digestive tract and not just where a colonoscopy can see). I'm including a link with more information about that, https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/what-is-crohns-disease.

It's great that your doctor is doing an MRI as that sounds like it might give a better look at what's going on for you! The good news is, it is possible to still have inflammation and not be experiencing a flare. So, while I can't say this will be your experience, it is possible that the imaging will still show inflammation even if you're not in the middle of the flare at the time of the MRI. That being said, please don't hesitate to advocate for yourself if you feel they aren't following up with your symptoms and questions.

I am crossing my fingers that the MRI finally gets you a diagnosis so that you can get on a path of treatment and relief! Please keep us posted.

Sending you gentle hugs. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)
