Accidents : no one understands the urgency

I have UC and I try to plan my outings knowing where the restrooms are at all times. I was at Sam’s club checking out when a wave of pain hit me in my gut. I’ve had this feeling many times and I have exactly 4 minutes to get to a restroom. Needless to say, I ended up calling a family member to bring me clean clothes and baby wipes because the bathroom was full and there were no close options.
I’ve had this feeling ( the extreme urge to void my bowels) while driving and I try to get to the closest restroom & now I keep a change of clothes in my car : just in case.

Hello there, thanks for sharing your story here with us. I know that many here in our community can relate to the sudden urgency and constant need to be close to a bathroom! Once the symptoms and pain hits, it’s like a ticking bomb and there is no stopping it. I’m glad that you’re family member was able to come help you out during a tough time like that. Having spare clothes, both in your car and in a bag you can always have with you, can be a lifesaver in times like this. Please know that our community really does get it, and we are here for you.
