Flare

Hi I think I’m having a flare, I have had ulcerative colitis for fifty years and am recovering from bowel cancer, stage 3. Surgery left hemicolectomy and chemo. My UC is worse than ever. I’m sure I need extra meds now. Any suggestions, please? x

Hi <inline-mention user-id="2266402" username="myholly18"/> . It sounds like you have been through quite the time of it recently! All I can suggest is getting in touch with your IBD team, so that they can arrange the necessary tests and then take action. - Sahara (team member)

 Hi I have been in touch with my nurses and consultant, Pulse dosage of vancomycin for the next 6 wks Then being considered for FMT so hoping that will be a end to it x

Hi Sarah I got in touch with my specialist nurses, Vancomycin, and a pulse dosage. Hopefully I’m being considered for FMT . X

Sara Thank you, for crossing your fingers. Will let you know if it happens, have a feeling COVID will have to improve before it’s done , which is a pain !x

Hi Amanda Thank you for your comment. Hopefully my consultant will get it sorted. I know I can’t keep going on vancomycin or fidixomycon for me it’s just a short term fix. I feel FMT is my last hope! I can’t say I’m looking forward to it, but I will do anything so I can get back to a reasonable normal life. The chemo upset my flora so I now swing between a u/c flare and c diff. So fingers x will keep you posted. Thank you x
