Living with Crohns

I was diagnosed in 2009. Never heard of Crohn’s and to be honest, I didn’t take it seriously.

Please don’t ever make that mistake!

I didn’t take proper care of myself, didn’t see my doctor, didn’t take my medication. One day, I was in such pain that I could hardly stand up. My daughter took me to the ER, I was admitted and had to have surgery. That was my wake up call. I never miss my medication or a checkup now.

I hope to meet others here that can lean on me and I can do the same. Good or bad days, we need each other.

Thank you for sharing your story. I too did not take it seriously when I was first diagnosed, I think mostly because my way of coping was with denial. It certainly is such a serious disease, and I ended up in the hospital numerous times in excruciating pain. Thank you for being honest with sharing, I know so many can relate to this.
