I have had crohns since I was a teenager, I have tried every drug out except the biologics. I was in the medical field and was exposed to TB and even though it wasn't active I had to be treated for 9 months. THE meds almost killed me. I am terrified of the biologics because of the TB exposure, there are so many side effects. I have been in a flare up for 6 months, I can't eat and all I want to do is sleep. I am ready to give up ! I don't know what to do. I am currently trying to find a new gastroenterologist. Many of my family members have crohns also and tried Humeria, Remicade, and they just put my niece on 6MP. The Humeria and Remicade did nothing for my brother or sister. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

 Dana, thank you. I would never hurt myself, I didn't mean to imply that.I just am so sick and tired of dealing with my crohns because nothing seems to work anymore. I explained I am terrified of the biologics because I was exposed to TB and treated for 9 months not because it was active but because of my crohns. I am afraid to try one and it become active. My brother and nephew tried Humeria and my sister Remicade she stays sick even on that. I just feel I am running out of options. I can't eat and the nausea I'd horrible. I love on zofran. My niece was just put on 6 MP I am waiting to see how that works for her, her side effects are pretty bad already. I am hoping a new gastroenterologist may have some new idea. I read your story and I was in your shoes at one time. I had a stem cell transplant for Crohns disease that totally changed my life for the good. Do some research on the treatment and maybe you would be a good candidate for this treatment as well.
