Entyvio

Had Crohns over 30 years. Many resections, only about 6 feet of intestines remains. Been on Humera for 10 yrs, doing well. Routine scope in Oct.2016, showed lesions all through remaining bowel. Blood work shows I have developed antibodies to Humera. Will be starting Entyvio next week. Anyone have experience with it? Thanks

    1. Hey Judunny,
I was diagnosed with Crohns in February. They put me on Remicade when I had to go to the hospital. However, the next injection I had an allergic reaction. My doctor decided to try it one more time and I had another allergic reaction. The infusion center convinced my insurance company to switch me to Entyvio. I just had my second injection this last Tuesday. I didn't really experience any huge difference after the first one, but I can see some little improvements after the second one. I get the 3rd one in a month. I will keep you updated. I definitely like that it only takes 30 minutes to inject. Remicade was over 3 hours. I have read that it takes a while for this medication to work, but I have seen some improvements. I pray that you have great results too.

      1. Hi MHilley -
So sorry for the delay in reply. Thank you so much for sharing your journey with Judunny! We appreciate your input and are so glad to hear that you've seen some improvements with Entyvio.

    2. Hi! Have had 3 doses of Entyvio, no noticing much change in bowel habits. I am very lucky because with this flare very little cramping. My problem is my bone pain and stiffness. Not sure if from Crohn's , meds, or that I also started Prolia for osteoporosis. Judunny

      1. I have my 3rd Entyvio treatment next week. I had been off of prednisone for 2 weeks, but my physician said my inflammatory markers are elevated. She has me on 20mg prednisone. I started feeling immediately better after taking the steroid. Another problem is that my hemoglobin is low. Does anyone else have problems with their blood or with fever in the afternoon?
