Living with J Pouch

Has anyone experienced gastrocolic reflex after the large intestine and rectum here removed. How does the body absorb water, now that the large intestine is gone ? Does I know it doesn't do the job as well, because I am now making kidney stones, I drink water with a lipton tea bag in it, and some stone breaker from the health store. I have had a J pouch since 2001, and now, as soon as I eat or sometimes drink something I have to go to the bathroom, I can even feel the small intestine moving stuff around, a bit uncomfortable, but it goes away, sometimes hard to walk, until that feeling goes away.
Exhausted from it, wish I could live without eating, any job boards that support folks with this condition?
thanks
be well

    1. Hi diozark,

I have had a jpouch since 2001 as well. I've had my ups and downs with it. I've definitely dealt with gastrocolic reflux at times in the past. Right now I seem to have to opposite problem. I have to be pretty diligent about my water intake and definitely can tell when I've been negligent of it. It's so tough to balance it all but I've never had the addition of kidney stones. Have you tried jpouch.org? It's a entire forum dedicated to jpouches. I hope you find your answers!
