What is your favorite form of movement?

Hey All!

As a Health Coach and Crohn's patient, I highly value working out, however, I am always mindful to not push my body too far physically and emotionally.

My go-to workouts include Barre for sculpting, Pilates for toning/stretching, and Yoga for mind & body benefit. And, I work out 3-4 times per week to give my body rest but maintain a healthy workout routine, as it is important to work out to keep a healthy metabolism, immune system, and overall strength.

What are your favorite workouts? Why do you like them?

  1. As a professional dancer, dancing is my absolute favorite way to work out.

Ballet class is the workout that gives me the best results in terms of muscle definition, strength, flexibility, balance and I can go on and on. However, I enjoy taking contemporary dance class the best, as that just gives me joy and I always feel so great after a good contemporary dance class--I'm sculpting my body, while expressing myself through music which for me is just therapeutic.

I also love pilates and yoga. Gyrotonics is another great way to stay in shape as well--I was introduced to this method in college and I fell in love instantly.

    1. That's awesome! And, since it brings you joy, I am sure it is a great way to manage stress and help you stay present and mindful while in class.

    2. Yes! It absolutely does!

  2. I love these suggestions!

Walking my dog has seemed to be my favorite (and the most reasonable) form of movement for me in this season.

    1. Hi All!

When I'm able, I love taking the dogs and kid for a walk. My son and I both enjoy boxing, yoga and baseball. I don't push myself when I can't. But trying to at least continue to walk around the block in the Southern California sunshine, helps with my mood and some of the arthritic stiffness. I wish I could still dance like I used to, but I still enjoy a good Barre class when I'm feeling great.
