Labs to Diagnose & Monitor Crohn's or Colitis Activity

One of the community's questions asked was, "Are there certain labs to diagnose inflammatory bowel disease?"

There is no test alone that gives a diagnosis of Crohn's or ulcerative colitis, but there are other tests that point to a diagnosis of IBD and how active the inflammation may be.

Short of a scope, there are several lab tests including markers of systemic inflammation, iron deficiency and stool markers of gut inflammation. Dr. Nandi elaborates in more detail in the video below!
