Aching body

Does the joint pain and inflammation go when you have the bowel removed?
Generally?

  1. I am no doctor, so definitely be sure to ask your doctor these questions if you haven't already. I can only answer your question from having spoken with others in the community that have had surgery, and the answer is no.

Surgery is not a cure for Crohn's Disease/IBD. Unfortunately, there is no cure. The root of the problem is our immune system. So it is possible that after surgery, the immune system can react/flare up again.

However, with that said, many have had surgery and have found tremendous relief.

Here is an article you might find interesting: https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/living/ostomy-surgery-decision

    I hope this helps some.
