Newly diagnosed at 56

Hello, I was recently diagnosed with Crohns and just trying to adjust to it all. Fatigued all the time, I don't feel like eating and when I do I feel even worse. Lost over 40lbs. Just trying to tread water until I get to start injections. But first, I have the breath test to check for bacterial infection, next week. I just want to feel somewhat like myself.
Thanks for reading this. May you all find a bit of happiness every day!

  1. Sending well wishes and hugs your way, @gail d! You CAN and WILL get through this, and it will all be behind you once you get a treatment plan in action.
I also had the breath test for SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth) and my results were off the charts, so getting that under control in addition to my Crohn's helped greatly. I hope they are able to identify what is causing your current ailments and get you on a treatment plan quickly.

You are definitely not alone in fighting this, and we are all in this together!! As you said, do your best to find a little bit of happiness every day, and know that we are here for you. Please keep us updated!

    1. , what you're feeling right now is pretty normal! Everyone's journey is different, but there's definitely an adjustment period for most. I really hope you get to start the injections soon, and that it helps with your symptoms quickly.
