proteolytic enzymes for IBD

Came down with IBD back in 2010 but did not want to take steroids or mesalamine so researched for natural alternatives and came across some studies regarding proteolytic enzymes helpful for IBD. Have been able to determine the best ones are Serrapeptase, bromelain and seaprose

  1. That's great, ! (I think I asked you about your experience in one of your other comments.) I'm so glad that you've been able to find something that is helping reduce your IBD symptoms and inflammation. Can I ask how you determined these worked the best for you? And also, how long did it take to notice a difference in your symptoms?

I know a lot of our community members use alternative or complementary therapies to help manage their IBD and it's always good to hear from people who have first hand experience with something that is helping them. I'm also sharing a link to more information about alternative therapies just in case someone coming across your forum is interested in more information, https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/treatment/complementary-and-alternative-therapies.

We appreciate you sharing your experience here! -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)

    1. proteolytic enzymes products such as Doctor's Best that contain serrapeptase, bromelain, and protease or lumbrokinase. Initially I took 2 capsules 2 or 3 times a days on an empty stomach and after 3 days the pain is gone and I can tell the swelling is less so I decrease to 1 cap twice a day
