afraid of flaring

Hey,
Ever used the bathroom and couldn't figure out if you were seeing blood or yesterdays undigested tomatoes???
Crohn's is keeping me so busy. Doesn't let me forget about it for a day. i should really stop thinking about it especially if im in remission. but i cant help but notice my bathroom habits and panic for no good reason. Its because im so scared of flaring and want to catch it right away.
I'm stressing out about my job for no good reason, I hope its not taking a toll on my body...
any advice?

  1. , I know Crohn's can put you in a high alert at all times mode! You aren't alone in feeling that way. The onset of a looming flare can definitely create anxiety and extra stress. But remember, anxiety and extra stress can CAUSE a flare. My only advice is to take your good days and run with them. If you're in remission, count your blessings and don't let your good days be ruined by the "what if". Enjoy your remission.. you deserve to! - Pam (team member)

    1. I can definitely understand that feeling of being on high alert! For your question about having difficulty figuring out if there is blood in the stool or not... I try to not think about it unless I see a pattern of a couple days. Because you're right--sometimes it can just be a red food! But if the red color doesn't go away for a bit, then I reach out to my doctor. For me, knowing that there needs to be a pattern before I worry helps me not stress unnecessarily. I hope you able to find some coping mechanisms for yourself as well! - Eshani (Team Member)

      1. you're really not alone in feeling like that. For me, it's one of the worst parts - I feel like I am always waiting to be unwell again, and it used to prevent me from doing stuff because "What if I'm not well when that time comes."
It's a tough one, but I hope knowing you're not alone at least gives you some relief!
Sorry to hear you're stressed about work too. Stress can definitely effect the rest of our body!
        Sending gentle hugs!
