Azathioprine

Experience with this med long term, trying to get off it, and any info on it while contracting covid…

  1. Thanks for reaching out, ! I don't have any personal experience with this drug, but one of our patient leader's did write about her experience. We also have a thread that mentions Azathioprine as well. Unfortunately we don't have any experiences on site that cover taking Azathioprine while contracting covid, so hopefully some community members will chime in.

    1. Hello, I have crohns disease and been on azathioprine for over a year now. I contracted covid last September. X

      1. I was on it for a number of years until it stopped helping. I never had any side effects whilst on it, but when I came off I had a lot of nausea. Coming off medication should always be supervised by your IBD team, so you can keep them in the loop in case you being to experience anything that's abnormal.
