Constipation for years nothing works

I have been diagnosed with IBS with constipation and UC. I have had constipation for 25 years, starting when I was 21. I have tried many things, I drink tons of water everyday, tried a high fiber diet, tried miralax, excercise, nothing works well. I just recently tried Linzess also.
Hoping someone on here has a similar issue and has found things that work, I would love to not be bloated and full of crap!!!!

  1. Hi ! When I have constipation I end up taking some fiber gummies and that usually clears me out, but it sounds like maybe you've tried fiber already? I also know someone who swears by Milk of Magnesia. Have you talked to your doctor about the constipation? I hope they have some ideas.

We also have had quite a few members write about constipation. Maybe some of their ideas with resonate! https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/search?s=constipation

Let us know how it goes. <3

  2. Yes I've tried three gummies also, no results. I have talked to my doctor, agree gave me the linzess. I was going to ask about magnesium. I'll check out the links thank you!!

  3. Hi ,
I have crohns and mainly suffer with constipation rather than the usual loose stools that most people get with the condition

    1. I used to suffer from horrible constipation. These are the things that worked for me: Peppermint Essential Oil from Young Living was a lifesaver. To this day I use it whenever I have any GI upset. But it is so helpful at relieving constipation and bloating. I make a roller out of it with coconut oil, rub it on my abdomen and it gives me relief. Also, massaging the abdominals can do the trick. If you go on YouTube and search "constipation massage" you will find a video showing you how. Lastly, finding a probiotic that worked for me was huge. I would take one daily and found that it made me have regular bowel movements. I hope this helps some! -Elizabeth (team member)
