Crohn's, menopause, and bone density
Hi,
I have been living with Crohn's since 2002 and have been on prednisone in the past. I have been in remission since 2009 mainly with the help of Imuran (azathioprine). I am also menopausal, yay for me!
My most recent DXA scan showed a decrease in my bone density and I was told I now have osteoporosis in my spine. Anyone else have osteoporosis?
My endocrinologist wants me to start Prolia injections; Is anyone else in a similar situation? How do you cope?

Thanks for the link, the articles are helpful. I had osteoporosis in the past and was given actonel, my bone density did improve but at the cost of damage to my esophagus. I am now investigating other options and the prolia is relatively new, I'm hoping someone might have an experience to share.
