Long time Steroid use and no working treatment.

Hello fellow sufferers.

I was diagnosed 2 years ago with Ulcerative Colitis.

I have been on Prednisolone for all of those two years. Just as my Preds are reducing I enter another flare no matter what medication I'm on!

I have tried numerous medications including Ustekinumab and Infliximab. Now apparently I'm on my last Biologic option in Vedolizumab.

With surgery now becoming a real possibility, the stress of a looming flare and the horrible side effects of my Preds. I'm feeling worse then ever.

I've tryied many diets including low residue and gluten free with no help.
I've kept diaries trying to detect trigger foods with no luck.
My dietician has said my diet is good.

I'm at a loss.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has been in this situation but just wanted to share my experience.

Thanks all

  1. Hey
You're definitely not alone! I have been in the same situation myself, and it really does suck! I just want to give you a massive hug.
Fingers crossed Vedo improves your symptoms!
If not, many of us here have had surgery, so you won't be alone and can ask any questions you might have!
    Hugs,
