Low Dose Immunotherapy/Neutralisation

Has anyone explored Low Dose Immunotherapy/Neutralisation techniques with regard to IBD?

  1. Hi ashleyf

I didn't really get much of a chance to read your comment at the time - life got busy. But now I see it has gone. This is the kind of treatmnet I am interested in... https://www.burghwoodclinic.co.uk/46/Low-Dose-Immunotherapy

    1. Having had a quick look around the site, I don't really see the relevance to IBD in specifically low doses. Lifestyle research is being carried out as we speak, and researchers hope to identify triggers from the world around us, but at the moment, there's not enough scientific evidence for what causes IBD.

This same site states that the main cause of Crohn's Disease is food intolerance...

I personally don't put any weight in information unless it comes from a reliable health source. I trust my specialist healthcare team, with a good knowlede of IBD, to provide me with the right information. Sometimes that means I have to ask the right questions, but we always get there in the end!

Immunotherapy is already used in IBD - treatments such as Adalimumab (Humira), Infliximab (Remicade). When someone with IBD is on these treatments, they should be regularly monitored and the dose altered if needed.

      Hope that helps.

      1. Thank you Sahara

I am very aware of immunotherapy with regard to biologics - my daughter is on Infliximab - but I am interested in learning more about any possible triggers for her condition - that is the focus of Dr Econs' approach. I am not convinced that any specific foods do trigger my daughter's condition but I am open to learning more about the possibility of that. I'd want to work with the best possible people to do that. I too trust my daughter's specialist health team but recognise that they don't have access to every approach that may help my daughter, including CBD, LDN, supplements and nutritional approaches. I agree that any source of further information needs to be realible. Her team are open to other approaches which is great. If there is one thing I have learnt along the way is that Crohn's is not an easy condition to try and unravel and I have a lot still to learn. I know that any approach is going to be multi-faceted.

        Thank you for your support.

        1. Hey there,

Someone close to me was using CBD and CBG (both legal) to help treat his symptoms. It has really been working for him and is all natural.

I have seen it work for him first hand and if you need help don't hesitate to drop me a message!

          1. Thank you

My daughter has been on CBD enteric capsules for a while and LDN and right now things are pretty stable. She is also on some heavy duty drugs though.
