Hello, i have just been diagnosed with Crohn's. I am a Pancreatic Cancer survivor, 13 yrs!
I know Pain. and nausea, and all these symptoms.
I've had resections, obstructions, infections, Duodectomy with Vagotomy, collapsed Biliary, multiple stents, Diverticulitis,....
And Now Crohns.
I found the Whipple Warriors Group on FB and it was really helpful.
So Im hoping you can help me.

  1. Hi . You certainly have been through a lot. Is there anything in particular we can help you with? Have you had a chance to speak with a gastroenterologist about new treatments? Wishing you the best and please know that this community is here for you. Richard (Team Member)

    1. Thank you.
Yes I was already seeing Dr Andari when I was hospitalized, in December, diagnosed as " Colitis ".
Had lab work that showed inflammatory markers.
A few weeks later after another lab check they doubled. More lab work and subsequent MRI, indicating inflammation, and CT scan and Colonoscopy resulted in diagnosed Crohns.
I'm researching and learning about this condition and mostly need information.
I live alone and I know I will need the peer support.
Thanks for responding to my post.

      1. Hi . I'm sure getting the diagnosis is more than a little overwhelming. Have your doctors discussed treatments at all. One thing I'll note is that IBD, in your case Crohn's, is an autoimmune condition, so one of the major steps is trying to get the inflammation under control. This article from our editorial team gives an overview of treatments, with links to more information: https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/treatment. I also want to share with your this article from our contributor Julie Marie on "The Many Questions, Decisions, and What-Ifs of Crohn's and Colitis:" https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/living/treatment-questions. Hope this information can help inform further discussions with your doctors and feel free to keep us posted on how you are doing and to ask questions. Best, Richard (Team Member)

    2. You have certainly had a lot of medical challenges, and now Crohn's. I was originally diagnosed with UC 40 years ago but after 8 years, they decided it was Crohn's. The huge lesson I learned was to not stop taking your Crohn's medication. I did that while searching for a new doctor and the results were not good. There are many medications out there and I am sure the doctor will find the right one for you.
