Skyrizi

Has anyone been on skyrizi? Just wondering because after speaking with them....I feel like I am a guinea pig as they couldn't answer some of my basic questions.

  1. I used to be on Skyrizi for about 2 years. I loved it. I had zero side effects compared to the other meds. I loved that it was an injection you administer yourself because I find that having control over the speed of the medicine being pushed into your body is nice. The reason why I am no longer on it, is because I began to flare again. The med has been out for some years now, so it isn't a new drug on the market--strange that your doctors couldn't answer basic questions. I'm sure there is a toll free number on Skyrizi's website that you can call for more info. I hope this helps some. Kindly, Elizabeth (team member)

    1. Hi . I can't speak to the effect of Skyrizi, but want to echo Elizabeth in noting that it is not o.k. that you felt like your questions about a medication were not being answered. Considering that this is something you will be putting into your body, you deserve to be heard. Our patient leader Jenna wrote here about feeling like doctors were not listening: https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/living/know-myself-better. Also, in this article Brooke wrote about empowering yourself, including getting a second opinion if needed: https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/living/disgruntled-patient. You deserve to feel that your concerns and questions matter. If you do choose to try the Skyrizi I hope it helps control your symptoms. Please feel free to keep us posted on how you are doing and to ask additional questions. Best, Richard (Team Member)
