Surgery

Hi newbie here, diagnosed in December with crohns and fistula between my bladder and small bowel after a week in hospital. Years of being told ibs and hormones were causing the issue. My small bowel is all tethered together and attached to lots of stuff. Inflammation was to bad in December for surgery so I’ve been on 3 months of steriods and infliximab infusions for the foreseeable. I’m due to have surgery in may but wanted to ask if anyone else is dealing with the bowel bladder fistula. I can’t eat real food I’m on liquid from the hospital now. Even that comes straight through to my bladder, I have constant infections and surgery can’t come quick enough! Sorry long post!

  1. So sorry your going through this ! How did they see or know how to diagnose you ? Silly question I know but I’ve have an endoscopy and a colonoscopy and they said they still can’t see anything but it could be right in the middle where they can’t see , so I’m referred to the gastro doctor for the capsule endoscopy xxxx

    1. I was in hospital with sepsis, I had ct scan, and camera in my bladder. Ct showed a bit of a mess. Downside of docs just telling me it was ibs. Have had recurring urine infections every month since last March, been on antibiotics since December.
Are you trying to get crohns diagnosis or a fistula?

      1. I'm so sorry you are dealing with this. Fistulas are so painful. I haven't had this happen to me, I wish I could offer advice. Just wanted to reach out and say I am sending virtual hugs and hoping you can have surgery soon and feel better. I'm positive others will chime in soon. Big hugs to you, Elizabeth (team member)
