Tired and in pain

In June I started with watery stools which lasted a month. Then fast forward to 5 weeks ago it started again this time day and night with temp and severe right sided abdo pain. USS shows inflamed bowel, bloods - High CRP and high faecal calproctein. Been referred for colonoscopy.
In the meantime I’m left with a lot of right sided pain and fatigue - should I be doing something about this pain other than analgesia? Or do I just wait for scope?
I work, don’t feel up for it at all but not sure if I’m just stuck with this pain and got to get on with it.
What’s your experiences?
xXx

  1. Hi First of all, I'm sorry to hear you're going through this but many of us can relate.
For me, I have learned over the decades of having Crohn's that when I am having a flare or am having abdominal pain, along with a pain reliever, I automatically switch to a liquid diet to help my intestines "rest". I usually just drink water all day and clear broth. I know its not the best thing but it really helps.
Your pain could be from inflammation and maybe causing a block, so resting the intestine will help the block pass. It has worked many times for me.
Let us know how you get on.

    1. how did your colonoscopy go?
Apologies, I'm a little late to say anything useful regarding pain management! 🙈
