Working abroad/long term travel with IBD?

Hello! I was curious if any fellow IBD folks on here have had any luck, or have any advice, when it comes to staying and working abroad for long(er) periods of time?

I'm currently on biologics and am stable. But I imagine it's problematic insurance wise? Haven't really seen anyone talking about it online so I'm curious to see if anyone has made it work.

For context I am based in the UK and would be looking to stay in the EU (I am aware Brexit may not have helped anything 🙁 ) .

My (not quite) partner holds an EU passport and is considering teaching abroad; so ideally I'd be able to (and would love to) travel. I'd rather not lose the opportunity/relationship :/ .

  1. Hi . I can't personally speak to this issue, but until someone chimes in with experience I want to share with you this page on what it's like to live with IBD around the world: https://www.crohnscolitisfoundation.org/blog/what-its-like-to-live-with-ibd-around-the-world and this page with information on health care abroad: https://www.ibdpassport.com/en-nz/travelling-ibd/health-care-abroad. I hope this information is helpful and that others have information. Best, Richard (Team Member)
