Can anyone help?

I had a blood test and stool sample taken which I believe they were testing for ibd. doc has called today to advise results show some inflammation but didn't say much about whether or how they would treat it. does this mean I do have ibd or can this be temporary. My doctors are rubbish and takes a week for me to even book a telephone conversation so wondered if anyone can help

  1. Hi Sadie, thank you for your question. If I may ask, what are your symptoms / primary reasons for blood test/stool sample? This information may better help our community members to give you some advice. Thanks! - Pam (inflammatoryboweldisease.net team member)

    1. Hi
since October I have been in pain whilst passing a stool. They treated me for piles but nothing helped. It feels like my bottom is tearing everytime I go to the toilet and it makes it bleed. I had a colonoscopy which was clear but the more recent bloods and stool sample showed inflamed. when the doctor felt my tummy I felt pain but never usually feel any tummy pain. hope this helps

  2. Hi ,

I'm so sorry you are going through this. It sounds like your best bet is to get a second opinion with a GI doctor who specializes in IBD. Not all GI's specialize in it, therefore your diagnosis may feel, muddled.

    1. Hey Sadie!

Thank you for your question and I hope you have found relief in the past 4 weeks. How are you feeling?
Sometimes, it can take a bit of time to get a proper diagnosis, and you can always get a second opinion from another doctor if you are feeling frustrated (doctors don't mind!).

      1. Hi. thank you all for your replies. I still do not really know what is wrong. I am using laxatives now to help which seems to be helping while I am using them but as soon as I stop the problem comes back. it's been a year now
