Should my health insurance pay for my dental work?

If Crohn's Disease can effect your gums and teeth along with medications to treat CD, wouldn't it make sense that having to have permanent bridges placed, that your Healthcare Insurance would pay for the dental work? My dental insurance is not covering the dental work. Any ideas?

  1. Hi ,

It's hard to get dental to cover a lot of things because it's not widely accepted that Inflammatory Bowel Disease can and will affect the body outside of the gut. Perhaps getting a letter from your GI & Dentist to advocate for the need of the dental work can help in an appeal on the decision. It's worth a try!
