Anyone experience dry mouth while on Imuran?
I started Imuran 5 days ago and for the last 4 days my throat and mouth have felt extremely dry and gritty. Like I swallowed a cup of sand. I was diagnosed (UC) 10 months ago, but this is brand new. Anyone else have this happen? Or is it just a coincidence that I started a new med at this time?

Hi Chrisann,
I have been on and off Imuran several times over the years, but I also deal with dry mouth on the regular. I recommend using a dry mouth spray like the one Biotene makes, and there are specific toothpastes for dry mouth too. Amazon is a great place to start looking, but if you have contact with a dentist I recommend reaching out for a recommendation.
