  1. Hi have you been able to discuss this with your doctor? If not, I would be sure to check in with them, make sure they know, and see what suggestions they may have for you. While you wait for others to chime in, I wanted to share this article with you and hope it's helpful https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/symptoms/complications/anemia. Sending thoughts your way! Warmly, Erin (team member)

    1. Hi . I can't personally speak to this issue, but, as noted in this article, Azathioprine induced anemia seems to be pretty rare and occurs with pretty high doses and/or in conjunction with other medications: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7835086. Anemia is pretty common with IBD in general and the article provided by provides some excellent information on that front. Hopefully your doctor can assist with getting your iron levels back to normal soon. Best, Richard (Team Member)

      1. Sorry you are going through this. I have dealt with Iron Deficiency Anemia since I was diagnosed. I go in for iron infusions. Is it just recently that you have gotten this issue? I'm wondering what information your doctor is telling you and if they are going to do iron infusions. I find that they help me a lot. -Elizabeth (team member)
