Biopsies

I had a colonoscopy and biopsies were taken. I was told that I do not have ulcerative colitis, but nothing was mentioned about Crohn’s disease. Would the biopsies have shown whether or not I have Crohn’s or would the doctor have to specifically request for the biopsies to be tested for Crohn’s?

  1. Hi , thanks so much for reaching out. Usually, the analysis completed on the biopsy will show results that may help doctors confirm an IBD diagnosis and differentiate between Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. If you haven't done so already, I would urge you to contact your doctor's office for further clarification on your results.
