  1. Hello , I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with blood in your stool and a relatively new diagnosis of colitis. I see you have an upcoming appointment with an IBD team. Is the blood in your stool a new symptom? Be sure to mention this symptom when you see the doctors, if you haven't already.

In the meantime, I hope some of our community members with experience with blood in the stool can share with you, as I know we have people here who experience this during a flare up as well. One of our advocates wrote about her experience with flares (including blood in the stool) in this article, https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/living/mild-to-severe-flares. And, as you mention being diagnosed only ten week ago, I wanted to share this article with you from our advocate, Marisa, with some of her tips for the newly diagnosed, https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/living/uc-diagnosis-tips.

I'm crossing my fingers that you can see your IBD team soon, and that some of the information here can give you a starting point for getting some relief. Please don't hesitate to reach out here anytime. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)

    1. Hi . People here definitely understand. On top or the excellent information from Christine, I want to note that there are now quite a few treatment options for IBD. You mentioned a couple of the more short-term treatments you have tried, but there are certainly others that treat the underlying source of the inflammation. This article from our editorial team discusses treatment options, with links to more specifics: https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/treatment. Hopefully this information can inform future discussions with your doctor. Please feel free, if you like, to keep us posted on how you are doing and to ask additional questions. Plenty of people here have been in your situation and this community is here for you. Best, Richard (Team Member)
