Colonoscopy and biopsy results.

I posted a while back about my symptoms and my story up until now and I FINALLY had my colonoscopy in July this year.
It was personally a horrible experience as I found it so painful (Sorry, don’t want to put anyone off who is due to have one but everyone is different and has different pain thresholds. Mine is clearly awful!! 🙈) and whilst they were doing the colonoscopy they also took some biopsies.
I got the results from the colonoscopy relatively quick from my GP, over the phone and they were normal but my GI Consultant wants me to go into the hospital to see him on Friday to get my biopsy results.
I was just wondering if this is normal and if anyone else from the UK has experienced this? I just don’t understand why my GI Consultant can’t just give me my biopsy results over the phone?
