Could it be IBD?
Hi everyone, I am currently under investigation for IBD/ other stuff but I am a little confused so I thought I would ask on here if anyone has heard of anything like this.
For the past 6 months or so I've been having worsening abdominal pain and off and on constipation. No diahorrea, no blood or mucus, etc. My calprotectin is raised so they're referring me to a specialist but everywhere I've looked everything that would usually cause raised calprotectin will usually also cause diahorrea. Essentially I am asking have you ever heard of anyone with Crohns/ UC/ anything else with only constipation and raised inflammatory markers? Is there anything else I need to be thinking of?
(don't take NSAID's, don't drink, eat fairly normally)

, Early on I didn't know that tar-like, black stool = bloody stool, but its from higher up in your intestine. Learning this made a big difference in how I was able to communicate my symptoms. If you haven't had a simple hemoccult test done to determine if there's blood in your stool that you can't see, it's a good place to start. 
all I can say is don't rule it out. IBD manifests differently in different people. We all have different symptoms, triggers, disease progression etc. Plus, because IBD can be progressive, it's often good to catch it and treat it when you have fewer symptoms! Let us know when you get your answers!
