dental implant

Has anyone experienced a failure of dental implant ? I have and after a bit of research it seems there might be a connection with the failure and being on Remicade

  1. Hi . I can't speak to this particular issue, but I want to share with you this page from the Johns Hopkins Arthritis Center on dental work and Remicade: https://www.hopkinsarthritis.org/ask-the-expert/dental-work-and-remicade/. It notes that TNF inhibitors, like Remicade, can predispose a patient to infection which could cause an implant to fail. I don't know if this was the issue in your case, but thought the information might be helpful. Hopefully others will chime in with their experience. Best, Richard (Team Member)

  2. Yes iam loosing all my teeth bit by bit now i have got to have all the rest out
    So depressing 😮‍💨

    1. Hi . Sorry to hear you have to have the rest of the teeth taken out. I don't know if this helps, but a good friend who writes for our sister-site for a different autoimmune condition (RA in his case) had the same issue and finally had the rest pulled and did implants and said it was one of the best decisions he ever made. Although, he also notes that it is pricey to do. Wishing you the best with your next steps and please feel free to keep us posted on how you are doing. Richard (Team Member)
