Feel extremely tired

I have a lot work to do, study and same time I have a work, before this symptoms I have a had rarely but last 2 month I am experiencing with fatigue which I can’t already handle myself, everytime feeling sleepy, despite I had a 8 hours enough sleep already, again I feel sleepy, only wants to lay down, and otherwise I am struggling I can’t complete my chore, getting behind from everything and it makes me to feel depressed, even trying to go doctor, but my leg don’t want to walks, I have a 45 min walk everyday, but it doesn’t help me too.

  1. Oh my heart goes out to you, . I can hear that the fatigue you're experiencing is really troubling and frustrating. Is this something new that you've noticed, or has it gotten worse? While fatigue with an inflammatory bowel disease is common, I would definitely suggest reaching out to your doctor (if you haven't already), especially if the fatigue is stronger/worse. I'm also sharing a link to an article with more information on fatigue, https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/symptoms/fatigue. I do hope that your doctor can give you some answers and help you get some relief! -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)

    1. thank you for you attention, so far I didn’t go to doctor, everyday promising my self I ll go still no result, I don’t have any side effects just only feel tired and sleepy, have a lot of work to do with my study and also I work too, I know how to important to done them but can’t do. Already got appointment with my doctor, will go

    2. I feel your pain here. It's such a challenge to juggle everything from work to school while dealing with IBD. As cheesy as it sounds, prioritize your days based on how you physically feel. What can you remove from your "to do" list on any given day? For my job, I take "sick days" quite often because of the extreme fatigue and other UC symptoms. I let my body guide me in this decision. Ultimately, I know my productivity is no good at work if I feel awful. Plus, my need to get to a restroom is also a factor in when I take days off. Sometimes, I know I can't sit in the restroom all day long and expect to get work accomplished. So, I stay home on those days. Maybe you aren't able to do this in your job? I'm glad you're willing to go to the doctor. Until then, just do what you can do--no matter how little it might be. I'll be thinking of you. Please update us and let us know what your physician decides. Warm Regards--Traci, UC-IBD Team Member

  2. Thank you very much, sure I will update my progress

    1. Lack of energy

      1. Is there anything that helps with your energy levels? I find that moving my body even if it is just light stretching can help boost my energy. -Elizabeth (team member)

      2. you're definitely not alone! Lack of energy and fatigue can be such a big one when it comes to living with an inflammatory bowel disease, as you can probably see from the comments here. I wanted to share 's article with you about IBD fatigue that might resonate with you. It also has some of her personal tips for fatigue. https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/living/heavy-crohns-fatigue Sending you gentle hugs. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)

    2. thank you Elizabeth for your support. The fatigue right now is like nothing I've ever experienced. Intellectually I understand that I need to move, but sometimes it feels impossible. I'm also dealing with very low thyroid levels and I'm being tested for SIBO. I had my infusion yesterday and I usually feel much better, but not this time. It's pretty overwhelming.

      1. Hi . I noticed that you mentioned low thyroid, this can definitely lead to fatigue. Our patient leader Holland wrote here about living with both low thyroid and Crohn's: https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/living/confusing-thyroid-disease. Also, you mentioned getting tested for SIBO (Jule Marie wrote about SIBO here: https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/living/sibo-and-crohns-disease). Is this because your symptoms are getting worse/seem to be flaring? I ask because you mentioned the infusion not seeming to help like it normally does, so wondering if you need to ask your doctor if you might need a treatment adjustment. This could also add to fatigue levels, as could the SIBO if that would be positive. Hoping you can get some answers soon and please feel free to let us know how you are doing. 2. I hear you. I've been there and it is totally debilitating. I hope you feel better with the infusion. Try getting sunshine even just 5 or 10 minutes can be so helpful. Also don't be afraid to ask friends or family for help with errands etc. Big hugs to you, Elizabeth (team member)
