Long list of symptoms. Asking for some insight

To start I should say that I am undiagnosed and awaiting to hear from my doctor. I have such a wide range of bowel related symptoms and was hoping to see if anyone has gone through similar.

My symptoms include:
Pressure and discomfort around rectum. Almost constant without aid from cold packs or Tylenol. Possibly hemorrhoids.

FREQUENT urge to go to the restroom for bowel movements. Already at 8 times today since 7am, and they range from heavy defecation, small bits and mucus only. Never feels quite I’ve finished afterwards. Sometimes there’s constipation.

There have been bouts of abdominal cramping, nausea and fatigue. Unsure if related.
This has been ongoing for a week now.

As mentioned, I am hoping to speak to my doctor over this but to reach them has taken some time.

No blood in stool. No vomiting. Thankfully. But it does feel like I’m having less of an appetite lately.

Hoping this sounds familiar to anyone. Thank you in advance for taking the time

  1. Hi , thank you so much for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear how you've been struggling this past week! I know many people here have gone through similar symptoms. Unfortunately, of course, it's hard to know if it's Crohn's or UC related, or something else. I wanted to share some diagnosis information with you, in case you wanted to discuss these options with your doctor. As well as possible signs and symptoms of UC and Crohn's.

    1. I can confirm that you symptoms are all symptoms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease. They could, of course, be something else entirely!
You may have been to see the doctor already, but I thought I would mention the initial tests anyway, just incase.
Usually a few standard, non invasive tests are carried out to check for inflammation; bloods (CRP) and stool (calprotectin).
I wouldn't worry too much if it's only been a week! It could simply be a bug, or something you ate!
