Stop Nexium before PillCam?

I have had issues for 18 years. Last year I ended up with 4 perianal abscesses, and they have fistulae through the sphincter. Calprotectin only 74, and GI will not use anything from last year when I had surgery 8 times.

So should I stop Nexium before my PillCam? I take 80mg per day.

Will I get what they are looking for or the 10 days of pain not worth it????

  1. Hi ,

I know this is not the answer you're looking for, but I'm afraid we cannot give medical advice of any kind on this site and I'd caution you about taking similar advice from others. Have you been able to discuss this in depth with you doctor and medical team? That's going to be the safest way to get an answer to this very important question. I really wish I had the answers you're looking for and could help.
I hope all goes well and would love if you would keep us updated on what you find out.

Thinking of you and sending positive vibes your way.

    Kindly, Crystal (IBD team)

    1. Hi - I'm sorry for my delayed response, but I wanted to ask how your pill cam test went. That test is always the one I will recommend for any patient - it's what ultimately diagnosed my Crohns and set me on a path to treatment and remission after years of being undiagnosed. It's minimally invasive and gives a lot of information to your medical team.

      Thinking of you!

      Warmly,

      1. Hi,
I hope your Pill Cam test went well. While I cannot answer your question, since I do not have the technical knowledge to answer it, I hope you were able to find a suitable answer and start feeling better soon.

        Best,
