Ustekinumab
Is there anyone you has or is on Ustekinumab for ulcerative colitis. Im intrigued to find out if anyone has got pregnant while on this or had any fertility issues. I know there are a lot of side effects as are with every medication but it be interested to know others experience. I’m so cautious being on this

I want to share with you this article on ustekinumab (Stelara) and pregnancy which notes The small amount of data available suggests that ustekinumab is unlikely to harm the baby but further studies are ideally required. There are concerns that ustekinumab might affect the baby's immune system for a while after birth; because of this, live vaccines might be harmful:" https://www.medicinesinpregnancy.org/leaflets-a-z/ustekinumab. Concerning fertility, the manufacturer (Jansen) notes that "The effect of STELARA on human fertility has not been evaluated. No adverse effects on female fertility parameters were identified in a female fertility toxicity study conducted in mice:" https://www.janssenscience.com/. I know this last note isn't terribly helpful, but it is pretty much all that is said on fertility research. Hopefully others have something to share on their experiences. Best, Richard (Team Member)
