What meds are available

I have IBD which is now considered an autoimmune condition. I also have psoriasis and rosacea, both also autoimmune conditions. (Should I include my migraines here too?) Anyway, is there one drug that will take care of at least the psoriasis and IBD together. I'm beginning to have way too many meds in my medicine cabinet.

  1. I have found that IBD and psoriasis combined is common and biologics are supposed to help with both at the same time (but not always). Methotrexate is another but definitely talk with your doctor about what you can try.
Let us know how you get on.

    1. Thanks 😀 I took methotrexate for many years and my doc took me off of it because I was developing lung problems. I do have a dermatologist who is working with me to decide if I should be on a biologic. I'll have to talk with him about the big picture.

      1. Hi . I want to share with you this article which notes that "The biologics infliximab and adalimumab are safe and effective for the treatment of psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis (PsA), ulcerative colitis (UC), and Crohn disease (CD) in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), a recent study found:" https://www.consultant360.com/exclusives/treating-concurrent-psoriasis-and-ibd-which-options-are-best. Your doctor should be able to provide further information and help determine if one of these treatments is right for your case. Wishing you the best and please feel free to keep us posted on how you are doing. Richard (Team Member).

    2. Hi, I also suffered with this, my hair fell out.
My Dad gets it too seasonally- its definitely stress related in him.
Mine stopped when the crohns stopped flaring.
Try the exclusion diet though as some food really aggravate psoriasis.

I have had my colon removed and still mt crohns flare- a ulcers (P.G) or psoriasis, for me, I get sunshine and zero stress is the most helpful.

Ps. Methotrexate is evil for me, I had seizures. Really strong stuff.
      Wish you well. XxMe
