Great question that I'm sure many of our community members have as well. There are a few types of IBD but they're all essentially diagnosed the same. Here is more information from our website that you may find helpful; https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/diagnostic-tests-and-procedures/.

There is no single test to diagnose IBD but rather a series of lab work, tests and physical assessment by a doctor. Your doctor may use blood work, stool test or diagnostic imaging or scans to help make a diagnosis. Speak with your doctor about any new, changing or concerning symptoms. In addition to speaking with your doctor, this article gives a good overview of the tests and procedures typically used in making a diagnosis: https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/diagnostic-tests-and-procedures/
