It’s a #SelfCareAware Soiree!

Hello IBD Community Members,

As you know, the InflammatoryBowelDisease.net community supports one another in staying healthy and comforting one another when things go awry. Part of coping or staying healthy is engaging in regular self-care. What’s self-care? Self-care is looking after and taking care of yourself - in a healthy way.

It can be hard to put yourself first and attend to your own needs - and so we want to help support you. That’s why we’re taking the rest of January to celebrate being #SelfCareAware and sharing easy ideas on how to cope and take care of yourself.

We'd love to know: What do you do on a regular basis to practice self-care? Share by replying below! You can also visit our #SelfCareAware Soiree for more information on self care and thoughts from other community members!

  1. I find something everyday to laugh and/or smile about. At least one thing. I also take a moment to get fresh air. I'll open a window, go out on my balcony or take a walk. All depending on how I feel. I also do something I enjoy. It doesn't have to be huge. For instance, I love coffee. So, sometimes if I have time and energy, I'll go get myself a latte and enjoy being outside. For me, selfcare is more than taking care of your IBD, it's taking care of, YOU, the person!
