Mesalazine side effects (mood)
I have been taking mesalazine (also known as or similar to mesalamine I believe?) since being diagnosed with UC back in 2016. I have noticed that I am a lot more irritable and uptight than I was a few years ago, i.e. my temperament has completely changed. On an Instagram group someone said they had this and that their moods settled when they came off this medication. Has anyone else experienced this? Or could this just be something that comes with having a long-term illness?
It's not something I have every heard anyone else mention, and it's not on the listed side effects.
People do change all of the time, and living with a chronic illness is very frustrating and can take it's toll psychologically too. Have you mentioned how you feel to a GP?
