Some relief with herbal teas?

A co worker of mine has seen me really struggling with a flare the past couple weeks. (Starting to feel a bit better now thankfully) It's just been grueling. I was down 9 pounds in 10 days, feeling like a zombie, and unable to keep down even water. (I'm sure we've all been there or worse a time or two)I was on the edge of tears when she saw me headed back to my area and asked if I was having a better day. My day had been anything but as I was contemplating if I should go to the er for the past 4 hours. We got to talking about it and she told me her daughter (who also has crohns) has really good luck with chamomile tea and she swears by it. Well at this point I was willing to give anything a go (probably would have bought magic beans from a stranger if offered) and I'm glad I took her advice.
I went to the store to find the chamomile apple tea she told me about but ended up getting chamomile vanilla which is just as good. I also picked up some ginger probiotic tea with tumeric. Both tasted great and I was actually able to keep it down. The chamomile tea is very soothing on my stomach and honestly I've been drinking it every day so far. I've had the ginger one a couple times and it tends to ease the gnawing pain from being empty inside along with the bloating. It's not a magic cure or anything but it has brought me much relief for sure!Has anyone else found relief with herbal teas?

  1. 💩🦄First Poonicorn is the best name I’ve heard in awhile! Love that a little fecal matter doesn’t stop some people from being incredible humans!

    1. Thank you! I put a lot of thought into how I could make people laugh with just my username. Life's too short not to make poop jokes!

  2. You made me Laugh with your username as well..Thank you.

This is my first time on here and I've had a painful couple of day's and it really put a smile on my face... Happy Holidays.

    1. I love chamomile tea before bed with a little bit of honey. It truly does soothe the stomach for me. I will say however, strangely, I can't have it first thing in the morning. Something about hot drinks makes my stomach churn.

So happy you found a tea that offers you symptom relief! I haven't tried the chamomile with vanilla, I'll be sure to give it a whirl.

      1. Peppermint tea with a teaspoon of honey is good as well.

        1. ,

That sounds so refreshing and peppermint is great for digestion.

        2. It actually took a fair amount of trial and error for me to find "my" herbal teas. I find many bitter, even with honey, and some, I just can't figure out why anyone would like the taste haha!
Now, I always have a select few in the cupboard for different things. Ginger and Turmeric is so soothing and warming, and I do think it has helped relieve my intestine on occasion. Of course, peppermint is a must for when I have wind/cramps! I have a couple of teas for relaxing and sleeping too.
I have recently become a huge fan of blooming tea! Not particularly for the taste, just purely the enjoyment of watching a flower bloom in a glass teapot!!
