Blood test results

Hey!!! Hope everyone is well!!

Just a quick update….

I had blood and stool tests done recently (blood tests were to check my CRP and ESR levels) and they have came back normal.

I have to repeat my stool test as it was insufficient so should hopefully get the results back for them in a few weeks, as I’m currently away on holiday.

Does normal CRP and ESR levels mean there is no inflammation present and it’s not IBD or can you still have IBD with normal blood results??

Thanks
Danielle ☺️

  1. Hi I've had many many blood tests and many of which show "normal" bloods and I have had Crohn's for over 3 decades. Normal CRP and ESR, in my experience, do not necessarily mean there is no inflammation. Higher levels would definitely mean there is inflammation BUT not necessarily mean it's IBD.

  2. I agree with Vern. They're certainly not a definitive answer!
