I was wondering if someone could help. I had my long awaited colonoscopy yesterday and they found "unspecified colitis". No one explained what this meant, just that biopsies had been taken.
Hi Alex (). Having questions about what the doctors mean and what is happening is certainly understandable. I need to note that we are not medical professionals and cannot offer medical advice, but I do want to share with you this article on indeterminate colitis: https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/types-of-ibd/indeterminate-colitis. I also want to share this article on the diagnostic process: https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/diagnosis. It is certainly possible that the biopsy will give them more information and they did not want to speculate before they had the results. Hopefully you will have more information soon. Please feel free to keep us updated and to ask more questions as you find out more - plenty of people here have been where you are. Best, Richard (Team Member)
