I achieved no active disease

Iv had chrons for 27 years. Numerous drugs and trials. Iv had my large bowel and rectum removed. I was told if it spreads any more in my small bowel I would probably die and early death. 12 months ago I was in and out of a&e due to flare ups. The NHS just offered more drugs that didn't help. I decided to take matters into my own hands. I started the carnivore diet, mostly the lion diet. 12 months later I had an mri scan. I have no active disease. I was not on any medication during this time nor am I now. There is another way to heal yourself. Many people are reversing and halting the progress of auto immune disease. I urge you to look into this. I'm proof that it works. The NHS will not save you.

  1. Hello . Thank you so much for joining our community and sharing your experience here. I can hear what a difficult and challenging time it was throughout the 27 years you've been living with Crohn's. And it is so wonderful to hear that you're living with no active disease now! I know a lot of our community members find dietary changes helpful in managing their symptoms. (In fact, for anyone reading your post here and interested in more information about inflammatory bowel disease and diet I am linking an article here, https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/living-with-cd/diet-and-nutrition.) As you mention, there certainly are many different ways to manage inflammatory bowel disease, including medication, diet, and lifestyle changes. Here is some more information on different types of treatment, https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/treatment. Everyone needs to figure out what they are comfortable with and what works best for them, and I am so glad to hear that you've found something that is helping you! Wishing you continued relief. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)

    1. Hi thanks for the reply im glad there is a place people can come for help and advice. I had a look at the links you sent me. I found the first link particularly interesting. I have done 100s of hours of research on human biology and nutrition and the development of auto immune diseases. I have to disagree with the claims made in the attached image. Diet plays a huge role in the development and triggering of auto immune disease. Sure genetics play a role but there has to be a trigger for it to become active. Wether that's nutritionally or an environmental trigger. If you remove that trigger then the disease goes away.
It's like when someone has diabetes, take your insulin but keep eating carbs. Well if you eliminate carbs that spike blood sugar levels diabetes goes away. This has proven to be true time and time again. And it's the same for chrons and colitis. There's better science and information coming out all the time. When they give treatments for a disease they treat the symptoms not the cause, that's why over time the treatment become ineffective. Either way new science is coming out all the time so its good to keep looking into these things. I wish everyone a healthy and happy life.
