Just found out I have Chrones

I am a 73 year old woman who was just recently diagnosed with Chrones disease. Still learning about it and learning what I can eat and what times to eat so I don't get far from the bathroom if needed

  1. Welcome to the community, . While I'm sorry to hear of your diagnosis, I'm glad that you found our community here. I hope that it can be a source of support and information. Here are a couple of articles that I wanted to share with you from one of our advocates who put together some helpful hints for those newly diagnosed, https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/living/hints-newly-diagnosed, https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/living/hints-newly-diagnosed-2. Please know that we are here for you and reach out if you have any questions, need to vent, or could use some support. Sending you gentle hugs. -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)

  2. The specialist that told me I had Chrons about 10 years ago. Has since has cancer of the bowels herself and left me with no one to take her place.

    1. Hi . I just responded to you in another string, but saw this post and want to note that people here understand how hard it can be to replace a doctor. I hope what I previously shared about finding a new doctor helps and I also want to share the hope that a new doctor could be a benefit - a new set of eyes to look at your condition and offer ideas to help control it. Wishing you the best. Richard (Team Member)

  3. Iam still wateing to go see the IBD nurse since last AUGUST

    1. oh my goodness the wait for some of these specialists can be so long (and frustratingly so). Do you have an appointment with them scheduled? Or are they supposed to follow up with you? I know that some office's will put patients on a wait list so that if someone cancels last minute there might be an appointment opened up earlier - of course I'm not sure whether or not this is something your IBD office offers, but it might be worth asking them. I hope you can get in to see the IBD nurse soon! -- Warmly, Christine (Team Member)
