Inflamed Bowel

Hello first time poster here. So I ended up in ER just before Christmas with diarrhea like water and tummy pain that had been going on for a week . I ended up having cT scan. Attached . I don’t think it was an infection as all stool samples came back negative . I had hydro morphine for the pain. Fast forward a week and I feel the stomach pain is retuning burning feeling now. Does this sound like ibd? I’m having a colonoscopy on the 20th. Thank you Ct scan

  1. Thank you for sharing this with us. I am so sorry you are experiencing pain and discomfort after undergoing tests.
While it may be IBD, there are still other possibilities and you will be properly diagnosed after your colonoscopy.

    1. Hi . Your concerns are certainly understandable and I want to stress that, even though you have the colonoscopy scheduled in a few weeks, if you feel your symptoms are again becoming unmanageable and you are in need of medical assistance don't hesitate to seek it out. On top of the excellent information from Julie Marie, I want to share with you this article from our editorial team on how IBD is diagnosed: https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/diagnosis. I need to note that we are not medical professionals and, for your protection, cannot provide medical advice over the internet. That said, this article from our editorial team discusses types of ulcerative colitis, including left-sided colitis: https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/types-of-ibd/ulcerative-colitis. I'm providing this because I noticed that the scan description you mentioned said "Findings are consistent with nonspecific left hemicolitis, possibly infectious or inflammatory." Hopefully these articles can help inform further discussions when you meet with your doctors. Please feel free, if you like, to keep us posted on how you are doing and to ask additional questions - this community is here for you. Best, Richard (Team Member)
