  1. Hi, your GP should refer you to see a Gastroenterologist who can hel with your diagnosis and start a treatment for any condition you may have. Your GP is not a specialist in gut issues but Gastros are. I have UC and suffer from constipation as well., I found that a spoonful of olive oil in the morning help moving things around, also plain yogurt or castor oil. Hope it helps.

    1. if they can't do a colonoscopy, there are other diagnostic tests: https://inflammatoryboweldisease.net/diagnostic-tests-and-procedures

  2. I have problems with constipation as well with Crohn's. May I suggest another simple treatment. Peppermint gels. My GI had suggested IBGard to help with constipation. I bought some and noticed it is mostly peppermint. It's expensive, so I did some research and discovered peppermint gels. I buy the NOW brand on Amazon. Inexpensive and works better than IBGard in my experience. One or two gels helps me stay more regular. Also, magnesium supplements. But the peppermint gels were a game changer after years of constipation.

    1. I agree with this! I use peppermint essential oil and it has been a life-saver for me. Total game changer. Along with a good probiotic and of course well balanced diet. -Elizabeth (team member)

  3. I also use probiotics and a digestive enzyme, which helps with dairy especially. I keep gas pills standing by as well. I've collected a lot of "helpers" over the years.
